Crawford Prep Lonehill Public Speaking

After the gruella knock out rounds at the Crawford Prep Lonehill public speaking contest, Grade 7 Jordan Dowds and Mikhail Mohamed were selected to represent their school at the CrawfordSchools™’ National public speaking contest.

The topics, song titles, included “My heart will go on” and “Disasterology”. These students travelled to Durban and enjoyed a two day stay hosted by the staff and students of the beautiful Crawford North Coast campus. As a treat they attended a workshop with the doyenne of public speaking and accomplished adjudicator, Mrs Marcelle Pincus.

They also enjoyed visits to the beach and Shaka Marine World aquarium together with the scary water rides they will fondly remember. At the competition where speeches were of an extremely high standard, Jordan won a gold medal and a trophy while Mikhail was awarded a silver medal. Principal Neville Swain congratulated these two pupils on their achievements and setting their minds to learning such important life skill.
