Suspect shot dead in Fourways

A suspect has been shot dead in Troupant Avenue in Magaliessig, Fourways after robbers followed a diplomat from OR Tambo International Airport and a shootout broke out. The diplomat is believed to have been wounded.

Some of the arrested suspects are currently in a police van at the scene of the crime. A firearm is lying in the street with empty bullet cases strewn over the pavement.

Police are searching for three other suspects who fled the scene with luggage and an undisclosed amount of money.

EMER-G-MED paramedics were on scene and declared the suspect, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the pelvis was transported to hospital by another service.
